"I look back on an exciting and varied year as an Analyst."

Erfahrungsbericht_Römer_Charlotte_1920x1080.jpg

Charlotte joined our Bachelor Welcome Program in November 2018. As an Analyst, she is a “temporary consultant” and has already successfully completed her practical year with us. Now she is studying management for her Master’s degree at the Católica Lisbon. Once she has completed her two-year studies there, she will join zeb as a Consultant. In this blog post we interviewed Charlotte about her personal experiences at zeb. She gave us the following four answers.

1. How did you become aware of zeb?

I noticed zeb at a Master’s degree fair where the zeb.Bachelor Welcome Program was presented. At that time, I was in the middle of an integrated Bachelor’s degree program with a working component in a German credit institution and was looking for a suitable Master’s program for afterwards. Two things in particular appealed to me about the zeb program: being able to apply my practical knowledge of the banking industry in consulting and also receiving monthly financial support during my Master’s. I have already completed my practical year as an Analyst. Now I’m in the middle of doing my Master’s in Management at the Católica Lisbon. After the two-year course, I’ll restart at zeb, this time directly as a Consultant.

2. What was your application process like?

The application process at zeb was very well-organized and, above all, fast. Just two weeks after sending in my application, I received an invitation for an interview. I was not in Germany at that time because of a longer stay abroad, but it was no problem to arrange my interview appointment for two weeks after my return. On the day of my interview I was invited to the Frankfurt office with two other applicants. In a total of three rounds I worked on a short case and answered questions about my personal motivation. At lunch, I was able to ask my questions in an informal atmosphere and get to know zeb better as a company. I received an offer on the same day and was able to join zeb as an Analyst shortly after.

3. What surprised you most about zeb?

Although I had expected to be deployed on a range of different projects, I was still surprised by the diversity. Over the course of one year I dealt with so many different topics. For example, I was involved in everything from outsourcing to the agile transformation of a modern financial institution. The best part: even as an Analyst, I was present at most meetings with the client and was treated as a full project team member. At zeb I was never bored, not even for a second, and I look back on an exciting and varied year as an Analyst.

4. How would you describe the atmosphere at zeb?

It was very easy for me to get in touch with my new colleagues. There is a relaxed, yet respectful and appreciative tone at zeb. As is well known, consultants sometimes work long hours. So it is of course very nice when everyone in the project team gets along well. I was able to experience zeb’s corporate culture especially on Office Fridays and at the numerous company events. I remember the zeb.Uni in particular, where all employees get together in Münster for two days once a year. Between interesting expert presentations and the joint evening program, it is particularly easy to network with staff from other locations.
