“In addition to the work, the time simply spent together with the team also plays an important role: taking part in events outside of the daily project routine and celebrating successes strengthens team chemistry and helps us get to know one another better.“

Benedikt has been part of the zeb team since 2017. He is an expert on topics relating to integrated performance and risk management, and is especially enthusiastic about projects with regional banks. In his testimonial, you will find out which exciting projects he has been involved in so far and what he values most about his work at zeb.

What do you like most about your position as a Manager in the PG Regional Banks – Finance & Risk?

I love being involved in all aspects of integrated performance and risk management. It gives me the unique opportunity to operate directly at the heart of the bank, as it were, and develop solutions with our clients that have a lasting impact on the bank as a whole. The regional banking environment brings with it the exciting challenge of being in direct contact with the decision makers (usually the board of directors or divisional management) of the bank. This allows us to generate and implement decisions immediately. What’s more, I completed both my training and my studies at a regional bank, so the regional banks in Germany are also close to my heart because of my career path so far.

How would you describe the atmosphere at zeb?

Performance-oriented, combined with very helpful colleagues who are always at your side and ready to support you. This is exactly what helps me to develop my own solutions, try them out within a group of colleagues and then discuss them with the clients. In addition to the work, the time simply spent together with the team also plays an important role: taking part in events outside of the daily project routine and celebrating successes strengthens team chemistry and helps us get to know one another better.

What was the most exciting task and why?

Even though I can honestly say that almost every task at zeb has its interesting aspects, my first project was especially exciting for me. In terms of content, it was all about increasing the profitability of a regional bank by means of various measures. As is typical for regional banks, we were a fairly small project team, so I was able to take on responsibility straightaway. We derived measures and made their impact on the bank’s various profit dimensions transparent. Together with a colleague, I sat down with the bank’s board of directors every week, and we presented and discussed the latest results. The task itself and the direct contact with the board of directors convinced me there and then that zeb was definitely the right place for me.

What path led you to zeb?

Having completed an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at a regional bank and gained initial experience in integrated performance and risk management, I joined zeb in 2017. My boss at the time talked so enthusiastically about the company that I just had to put in an application.

What makes zeb special in your opinion?

Definitely the culture and the atmosphere – a performance-oriented way of working and high expectations are part of everyday consulting life. At zeb, these are combined with a great interpersonal atmosphere and mutual support. Also, even at a very early stage, employees at zeb can take on responsibility and contribute their own ideas – and these are heard and encouraged!

Has zeb/your job lived up to your expectations so far?

I think it’s already become clear that so far my expectations have been more than fulfilled. 😉
