“My many years of experience are valued and I enjoy a great deal of freedom. I also always feel that my opinion matters and is taken into account.”

Thomas has been part of the zeb family since 2009. Here, he shares his experiences and his activities as a Manager in the field of software development.

What does your typical day look like?

There is no such thing as a typical day at zeb. Often I don’t know in the morning what to expect during the day. But that is exactly what makes my job so interesting, exciting and varied.

What do you like most about your job as Manager?

Firstly, I like the fact that my experience as a software architect in the field of data management is valued and that I enjoy a great deal of freedom for architectural and development decisions. I always feel that my opinion matters and is taken into account. Secondly, it never gets boring either, since frequent client inquiries and the collaborative, interdisciplinary work on topics is accompanied by a lot of communication and thus rapid changes in the tasks.

What was the most exciting task and why?

The most exciting task so far has certainly been to design a completely new data processing strategy and a corresponding process for the software component zeb.control.accounting and to accompany the (further) development within the scope of software development, roll-out and productive operation at various clients over several years. Together with colleagues from Java, content and database development, we have created an interdisciplinary modular architecture for combining the various specialist components of zeb.control.accounting to deliver client-specific products.

Which hashtag would you use to describe your tasks as a Manager at zeb?
