Why did you decide to continue working for zeb as a student assistant after your internship?

I really liked the wonderful and highly professional team, but also the freedom with regard to working hours and the way you tackle tasks. For me, being able to stay on as a student assistant meant gaining even deeper insights into the daily work of the Talent Attraction team.

): What were your first weeks like and what were your impressions of zeb?

At zeb, I was able to build my own network very quickly – my colleagues, but also various onboarding events, contributed to this. Therefore I felt very comfortable right from the start, and after just a few weeks I had the impression that I had been part of the team for much longer.

What is it that makes zeb special

The special thing about zeb is that, despite the large number of employees, there is an enormous sense of flexibility. Individual strengths and career plans are taken into account, rather than forcing everyone to fit into the same strictly defined structure.

What have you learned at zeb so far?

During my apprenticeship at zeb, I learned that – no matter which professional position you are in – “reasoning beats hierarchy”.

What is it that makes zeb special?

For me, the way my colleagues and I interact and communicate is very special, in particular the informal way we address each other and the fact that we all can learn from one another, regardless of our respective positions in the company. At company-wide events such as the zeb.Uni or the Christmas party, you always get to know colleagues from other European office locations whom you would otherwise probably not come into contact with, as an apprentice.

What do you like most about your apprenticeship?

I particularly like the variety it offers. As an apprentice, you get insights into many different internal departments, such as Recruiting, Finance, Research, Design & Languages, and various secretaries offices. I particularly enjoy the administrative tasks in those departments.

You work in Embedded Research. What does that mean in concrete terms?

On the one hand, we support client acquisitions and projects in the same way as classic consultants do; on the other hand, we are the zeb unit responsible for creating and further developing various market models and studies.

What tips would you give students interested in the consulting industry?

An internship or a position as a student assistant will allow you a closer look at the daily work of a consultant and help you decide whether it matches your expectations. You get to see the various facets of being a consultant and gain some initial experience.
