Internship in consulting

Your look behind the scenes

What you need most to make your internship at zeb a success is a passion for discovering, trying out and developing new things. We are looking for people who like to question the status quo and inspire others with their ideas. It doesn’t matter whether you are studying for your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or having a gap year. We give you the chance to discover new fields and delve deep into the topic. Discover the world of financial services and experience first-hand how people work together in project teams. Gain deep insights into pioneering projects and expand your horizon.
We look forward to meeting you and will do everything to make your internship an extraordinary experience.

What we offer

Program

First of all, we thoroughly prepare your internship. Your mentor, who we refer to as your CDC, will help ensure you have a smooth start. First of all, you will receive your technical equipment so you can get started right away. Ideally, you’ll set off for your project and get a taste of consulting on the first day of your internship. During the internship you will be a temporary consultant and support the project team as a full member—with all the rights and responsibilities and on an equal footing.
As a rule, you will spend Monday to Thursday with the project team at the customer’s premises and work in the zeb office or at home on Friday. The travel and accommodation costs for the project will of course be covered by zeb. During your time at the client’s site you—like all other project members—will receive work packages to work on. Your tasks include, for example, helping to design and document client workshops, researching and analyzing various topics and creating presentations. As time goes by you will take on more and more responsibility. In addition to the project, you may also be involved in graduate recruiting and sales or innovation topics.

Salary and annual leave

In Germany, we pay you a gross salary of currently €2,100 per month—regardless of whether you are doing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. At our other European locations, salaries are in line with market rates. In addition, you will get two days of vacation per full month of internship.

Benefits

Exchange ideas with others who are currently doing an internship or have been working at zeb for a longer period. For this purpose, we organize events and get-togethers for interns. In the offices, you can make new friends at the foosball table at any time or network with everyone in the office over a beer after work on Friday. Special highlights include the zeb-wide events zeb.Uni and the Christmas party. Here, zeb staff from all locations meet in Münster to exchange knowledge and celebrate together. Find out what other benefits you can expect in an internship by clicking here.

Internship abroad

We also offer internships at our locations abroad. Often the project language is the national language. Good command of the language is therefore necessary for an internship.

With knowledge of the national language as well as German and English (both at C1/C2 level) you can do an internship in the following countries:

  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Switzerland
  • The Netherlands
  • Luxembourg (French)
  • United Kingdom

If you speak English and the national language of one of the following countries (at C1/C2 level), you can also do an internship here:

  • Italy
  • Sweden
  • Poland

What we expect

Who we are looking for

We are looking for people who achieve very good results in their studies, integrate well into teams, take responsibility, express their views convincingly and like to think one step further than others. If you have already gained practical experience in consulting through other internships or volunteer work and have a passion for financial services, we look forward to meeting you.

  • Bachelor’s degree from the 3rd semester or already in your Master’s program.
  • First practical experience through relevant internships or vocational training in consulting, in the financial sector or with a tech company.
  • You enjoy questioning the status quo as a team.
  • You are curious, reliable and team-oriented.
Requirements
  • 2–6 months’ time for a full-time internship
  • You do not need to be enrolled during the internship if you are taking a gap year between your Bachelor’s and Master’s.
  • Valid work and residence permit for the country where you want to do your internship
  • You are fluent in English, ideally German and the respective national language.

What have you valued the most during your internship?

The authentic insights into the everyday life of a consultant. From day one I went along to the client’s premises and worked on the project as part of the team.

Why did you decide to take an internship at zeb?

After assisting the consultants in their work time and again, I wanted to gain first-hand experience rather than watching from the sidelines. Of course, I had also been considering whether zeb might be the right choice for starting a career.
