The new Retirement Savings Plan (#Altersvorsorgedepot, #AVD) can outperform your individual savings plan. But there’s more to the story. 💥 zeb recently ran a sensitivity analysis on Germany’s upcoming "Altersvorsorgedepot" (decided end of March, starting 2027) vs. a self-managed, non-subsidized #ETF portfolio. Across various scenarios, the government-backed model shows a general advantage — especially with shorter investment horizons and lower expected ETF returns. However, this comes with a clear trade-off: ➡️ You will have to accept significantly reduced financial flexibility ➡️ Your tax refunds must be fully and consistently reinvested every year Takeaway: The product can be beneficial, but only with disciplined behavior.
