Your online assessment at zeb - what to expect

Application guide - part 4 of 5

The journey to finding the right job begins long before you submit your application. In our five-part guide, we will walk you through the process from your initial exploration all the way to the interview:

1. Before you apply – are we a match?

2. Your CV

3. Your cover letter

4. Your online assessment at zeb (You're here)

5. Your interview

Why an online assessment?

We’d like to get to know you beyond your application. On the one hand, the assessment provides an objective, standardized picture of your skills; on the other hand, it gives you an authentic glimpse into the world of zeb before you meet us for an interview.

If you apply for an entry-level consulting position (Consultant/Analyst) in the DACH region, our online assessment will follow after we review your application materials. This does not apply to entry-level positions at our subsidiaries, findic and applied by zeb.

What to expect

The assessment takes about 70 minutes and is specifically tailored to zeb. It consists of two main components:

  • A cognitive performance test, including numerical reasoning and multitasking – skills that play a crucial role in our day-to-day consulting work.
  • A job-related personality test, which allows us to see how well your personality aligns with the demands and expectations of a consulting role.

zeb.RA, our digital assistant, will guide you through the process, explain the next steps and provide an interactive break to give you a chance to pause and recharge.

You will also find exclusive content, such as a video message from our Managing Director and insights from members of our team. This way, you’ll get a feel of what it’s like to work at zeb, even during the assessment process.

💡 How to prepare

  • Create a quiet environment: set aside 70 minutes during which you can focus without interruptions.
  • Check your setup: ensure you have a stable internet connection, an up-to-date browser and pen and paper ready.
  • Start well rested: choose a time when you’re at your best.
  • Stay authentic: there are no “right” answers in a personality assessment. Only honest answers will show if it’s really a good fit.
  • Make the most of your breaks: the interactive break will help you refocus.

By the way: in 2024, our online assessment was nominated for the Trendence Award in the “Best Candidate Experience” category.

Stay tuned for part 5:

The online assessment is followed by interviews. In the final section, we’ll show you how to prepare effectively and make a strong impression during the interview.
