As a student assistant at zeb, you will get deep insights into our working world—whenever your schedule allows. What we offer
As a student assistant you can apply your theoretical knowledge in the real world. We are looking for student assistants in very different departments. You can see what they are here. From the beginning you will be accompanied by your coach who will make sure you get off to a good start. You will get to know your colleagues and the tools that help you with your tasks. Soon you will be able to work independently and take on increasing responsibility. For us you are a full-fledged team member, because appreciation is very important to us.
You can arrange your working hours flexibly. During the semester up to 20 hours a week are possible, and you can work even more during the semester break.
Depending on the area you work in and length of time at zeb, you will be paid at least €10/hour in Germany. Paid holidays and sick leave are a matter of course. At our other European locations the conditions may differ.
At zeb, you have many opportunities to network. Use them for networking with other students and your colleagues. A variety of events, such as a foosball match or after-work beers on a Friday, give you plenty of chances to do so.

What we expect
We are looking for people who achieve good results in their studies, work well in teams, take responsibility, express their views convincingly and like to think one step further than others. If you have practical experience through volunteer work or internships, then you have even better chances. We look forward to meeting you.
- You are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Initial practical experience in the relevant field.
- You are curious, reliable and team-oriented.
- You enjoy questioning the status quo as a team.
- You must be enrolled
- Ability to work at zeb for six to twenty hours/week
- You speak German and English fluently


What was your application process like?
I was invited for an interview with my project manager for IT and my project manager for organizing the student assistants. The discussion was very pleasant, I had to deal with a few small tasks and was given the opportunity to ask questions myself.
A few days after the interview I was offered the job. My predecessor contacted me very quickly afterwards and arranged a start date. It was all very straight-forward.

What do you like most about working as a student assistant at zeb?
I like the appreciative and respectful way people interact day-to-day and also the professional insights I gain through my work. I learn a lot at zeb and my new knowledge and skills will certainly help me in the future.

What have you learned during your time as a student assistant in Research?
From my work as a student assistant, I will definitely take away how much precision work goes into researching sound and reliable data, facts and figures. I get valuable tips and advice on all aspects of data research and analysis in the insurance industry, which I have also found very useful during my studies.

What do you like most about your time as a student assistant at zeb?
The variety and flexibility! I had the good fortune to be able to organize events regularly. My other tasks were also always very varied. I was allowed to contribute to various projects and also to take on my own small projects. I never got bored! The work was easy to combine with my studies. Every semester I was able to adapt my working hours to my lectures and seminars, and in exam phases I could take time off without any issues.
